A new little life.
On a rather rainy and otherwise unremarkable Thursday morning, we added a (very tiny) new addition to our lives. Meet Nugget, our dwarf hamster!
As someone used to reading hours of litigation a day as standard, even I have shocked myself with the amount of research I’ve done on him over the past weeks and months. We have found so much joy in preparing for this new pet and probably to many the welcoming of a new hamster into our home is rather insignificant especially with everything going on but he was already given us so much happiness already and I am so thankful for him.
Despite his very small physical presence at roughly the size of a plum fully grown, the space he takes up in our lives is already fully established. His little habits are starting to appear and we are currently working out his favourite vegetable! Small animals can still have very big personalities and he is no exception.
He has also provided us with a lovely release from all of the darkness around us at the moment as we await a second lockdown and the potential of even more death and isolation where we live and he is definitely proof that happiness is often found in the smallest of packages. (pun intended!)
Writing feels like bearing a part of me that’s often difficult to articulate outside of paper. I so appreciate you looking through my thoughts and sharing them, even for a moment, thank you!
